Liz Morrocco. Painting : Felting : Millinery

Liz was born in Stirling and was educated in India and Scotland.  She now lives and works in rural Angus, Scotland.  Liz graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, in 1973 as a jeweller and silversmith and qualified as an art specialist in secondary education, ultimately working as a Principal Teacher of Art, until retiring in 2010.  She married into the Morrocco Family in 1973; her husband is the sculptor Nick Morrocco.

The inspiration for her work derives from her love of colour, which started during her stay in India and continued in Scotland with the ever changing colours in the landscape.  The Scottish Colourists are an obvious influence.  Although a trained jeweller, Liz now mainly paints, producing an eclectic mix of still lives and landscapes.  She creates one-off millinery pieces using a range of materials.  Felting is a craft that she enjoys as it allows her to use colour in a variety of outcomes.
